It has been quite some time since the rumors concerning a newXboxhandheld console have emerged on the Internet, and they don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
Last time, it was suggested thatMicrosoftmight launch its first Xbox handheld, which will probably be a licensed console, as early as this year.

Now it seems that this new licensed console could be anAsusROG handheld after Asus just posted a video teasing a new device, showcased by its iconic ROG mascot, Omni.

At first, it just seemed to be teasing a new upgraded Asus ROG Ally handheld console, but there are a couple of points hinting at a potential Xbox collaboration.

For example, in this short animated video shared on platform X, you can see both the Asus ROG Ally handheld and the ROG Raikiri, an official licensed Xbox controller.
On top of that, the Xbox social media team has also commented on this video,posting the suspicious monkey meme image, making it more possible that we are looking at an Xbox licensed handheld console teaser.

A Strong Collaboration Between Xbox And Asus
Asus has launched a number of successful gaming handheld devices in the past, including Asus ROG Ally X. So, it doesn’t seem far off to imagine a potential collaboration between them and Microsoft.
With all that said, this is just a rumor mixed with speculation. Microsoft still hasn’t officially confirmed anything regarding its plans for handheld consoles, so take that with a grain of salt.

If earlier reports regarding thetarget release of 2025for this licensed handheld console are to be believed, we probably shouldn’t wait too long before an official announcement.
Apart from that, rumors suggest thatMicrosoft is planning to once again launch two consoles in the next generation, with the X model being a traditional home Xbox console and the S model being a handheld console.
