So we all saw the totally awesome and incredible trailer forX-Men ’97,right? Well, if you haven’t then stick around for a while. For today, we are discussing an incredible theory that might answer people’s questions regarding the upcoming animated series once and for all.

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in X-Men

With the character of Professor Charles Xavier in the series, fans are quite confused about whether he will actually be seen in the animated show or not. Well, much like Schroddinger’s Cat, the answer is allegedly both a yes and a no!

How Charles Xavier Could Be A Part ofX-Men ’97!

In the trailer, it was shown that the great and revered Professor Charles Xavier had allegedly died. With a body buried and Magneto after the plans of Xavier,X-Men ’97starts right where the original animated show ended.

Well, we hypothesized a theory that might just be the answer to Xavier’s dilemma. Getting inspired by Schroddinger’s famous experiment, we came up with the conclusion that Charles Xavier is dead and alive at the same time. Don’t worry, the theory makes sense and yes, Xavier has done this before and who’s to stop him from doing it again?

Before we delve into the theory, we have to first delve into what happened in the past. In the originalX-Men: The Animated Series,Charles Xavier is seen on his deathbed and wishing his team a final goodbye. It isn’t shown whether he actually dies or not and hence, we can assume that he is indeed alive. But in the trailer, a body was seen getting buried which we could assume is only Charles Xavier. So we came up with thisChristopher Nolan-level theory that Xavier was actually using the power of Astral Projection!

Charles Xavier’s Brain Might Be Alive Using Astral Projection

The term Astral Projection has been heard by people who are not into even comic books. Well, the term refers to transferring the life force onto a higher or Astral plane so that even if the body is destroyed, the conscience, in its pure form, stays untouched.

Well, we theorized that Professor Charles Xavier, (being the intelligent man he is) transferred his entire conscience onto the Astral Plane. Although his body may have been buried, that doesn’t mean Xavier can’t help our fellow X-Men. Now that we write it, the plot does sound eerily similar to theStar Warsfranchise when Obi-Wan Kenobi became a Force Ghost and guided Luke Skywalker. Well, similar to that, Charles Xavier could also potentially return and be the mentor to his team of mutants that the people know and love.

Although as interesting as this theory may sound, it remains, after all, a theory. With hopes and returning characters,X-Men ’97is slated for a release date of 06 August 2025 on Disney+ in the U.S.
