The nextWorld of Warcraftexpansion, Midnight, is currently being revealed at Gamescom 2025.
First announced at BlizzCon 2023 as part of the “Worldsoul Saga” trilogy, Midnight is taking players back to Quel’Thalas, first introduced in-game duringThe Burning Crusade expansion.

Following itscinematic revealduring Opening Night Live,Blizzardhas been hosting several developer panels during the event, slowly revealing new information as to what we can expect when Midnight launches at some point in 2026. We knew that player housing was coming, but now we know what else to experience along with it, and one of those new features is something Blizzard hasn’t done since the Battle for Azeroth expansion.
World of Warcraft: Midnight Season One, but three separate raids, featuring a total of nine bosses, for players to explore.

They are, in order of intended progression, as follows:
The Voidspire:Ascend a towering structure filled with formidable foes and cosmic horrors, including a showdown with Dominus-Lord Averzian and Salhadaar in this six-boss raid.
The Dreamrift:Step into the permeable veil between primordial dreams and brutal reality in this single boss raid encounter. Join the Shul’ka in their hunt of an undreamt god that never should have been and put down half-birthed abominations that lash out against existence itself.

March on Quel’Danas:The story reaches a thrilling climax as the united armies of the elven tribes march on the iconic Sunwell Plateau.
World of Warcraft: Midnight’s Capital City Will Be Silvermoon City. Yes, Even For The Alliance
With a return to Quel’Thalas on the horizon, that also means we’ll be returning to the Blood Elf capital of Silvermoon City as the expansion’s major hub.
That all sounds fine and dandy, but again, it’s the Blood Elf capital, which means it’s a Horde-only city. However, there will be a “small sanctuary” open to the Alliance so they’ll be able to utilize it as a hub for the Midnight expansion as well.

Delves, first introduced inThe World Withinexpansion, will also be making a return, though you’ll be getting a new companion: Valeera. In total, ten newDelvesare being introduced in the game, including some taking place in an outdoor arena, which means you’ll be able to use your ground mount.
Delves have been a very welcome addition toWorld of Warcraftand have felt like a far better system to enjoy compared to Shadowlands' Torghast. They’re challenging, offer tangible rewards, and don’t feel like necessary content, which means we can enjoy them at our own pace without being burned out by them.

Midnight will also feature eight new dungeons, all of which will be available on the Mythic 0 difficulty at launch:
We’ll learn more about Midnight’s upcoming features on Saturday when Blizzard is hosting a systems panel highlighting new talents, Demon Hunters, the new Prey system, the leveling experience, PVP, and quality of life updates.
