With the actress set to lead her own MCU project,Agatha All Along, fans are excited if it could bring something new to the table likeWandaVisiondid post-Endgame, at least with its first half. Interestingly, Hahn wasn’t very educated on the subject of Agatha and Marvel in general, but the ambition of the story got her hooked.
Kathryn Hahn Got a Sense of Freedom Playing Agatha
Despite not having prior knowledge about her MCU counterpart,Kathryn Hahncompletely owned the part, and it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the shoes of Agatha other than her. While she lacked any sort of beforehand knowledge about the character when Hahn was initially offered the gig, the actress recalled being taken away by the story’s ambition during the pitch.

Hahn further stressed (viaThe New Yorker) that there was“a sense of total freedom with this part”, which allowed the actress to put her“whole self into it”.
There was definitely a sense of total freedom with this part. I felt a real surrender in just taking the big swing of it, which was so, so fun. I mean, I’m kind of a newbie to this world. I don’t know very much about Marvel. But, when I was pitched this story, I was so taken by the ambition of it. And the serialism and the sadness and the all of it. So, yes—I mean, it really did feel like I was able to throw my whole self into it.
Another aspect of her character that made rounds uponWandaVision‘s release was Agatha’s theme song, which was pretty cathartic for both viewers and the crew behind the screen.

For years, Disney has had an issue when it comes to crafting proper twist villains, whether it beZootopia‘s Dawn Bellwether orBig Hero 6‘s Yokai. Fortunately,WandaVision‘s Agatha was a breath of fresh air, which felt like a return to classic Disney villains, and her theme song that served as the revelation of her truth, was the cherry on top. Speaking of it, theBad Momsstar recalled having extreme fun while crafting it, sharing that it was a cathartic experience for them.
