The wait is finally over as fans have received the first official trailer for Disney+’s next Marvel TV Show,Hawkeye. The upcoming superhero show will of course feature Jeremy Renner as the star, as well as Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop.

But one character that was absent from the new trailer is Echo, who has been confirmed to be appearing in Disney+‘sHawkeyeand will be portrayed by Alaqua Cox.

Nevertheless, here’s what to expect from the character Echo inHawkeyeand what role she’ll play in the upcoming show.

Who Is Echo and What Are Her Powers InHawkeye?

Echo, otherwise known as Maya Lopez, is a Native American who was born deaf.

Echo’s father was a secret mob enforcer who worked for the popular Spider-Man villain, Kingpin. One day Kingpin decided he would have Echo’s father killed, and then left a bloody handprint on her face. This handprint has become synonymous with Echo as her signature look.

Kingpin then took in Echo and deceived her about who killed her father. After raising her for many years he then had Echo infiltrate the life of Daredevil and convinced her that he was the one who killed her father.

After Echo battled with Daredevil, he managed to talk her round and explained that it was Kingpin who killed her father. She then shot Kingpin and left him blind for a period of time.

As for Echo’s powers, there have been various adaptations of the character with different abilities. Her most common powers are photographic reflexes, flight, interstellar travel, superhuman strength, superhuman durability, immortality, and being a superb mixed martial artist.
