However, there comes a time when a gun is a little too good, thereby negating the challenges intended by the developers. This usually leads to the gun being tweaked, a move that doesn’t go down well with the community. But Arrowhead Studios seems to be an exception to this rule!

When it comes to nerfing a weapon, armor, or ability, the most common way to go about it is to play with the damage. Either reduce the amount of damage a weapon can inflict or how much damage some armor can absorb. But that’s not the only way to nerf a weapon, and Arrowhead has decided to take an alternative route.

The explanation comes from YouTuber Muaxh03, with a short clip showing how the SG-225 Breaker shotgun now has fewer ammo rounds. Where before it had 16 rounds, the shotgun now has 13. It wasn’t enough to simply reduce the ammo count and call it a day. The designers and animators created a new look for the clip and included the same in the reload animation.
The new clip is longer than the previous one but slimmer, thereby justifying why it has fewer rounds.Helldivers 2is all about immersion and lore, and the team has created a suitable explanation for the change as well. Stating that the 16-round clips were too expensive to manufacture in quantity, they have now begun issuing the 13-round clips as standards.
Comments from fans under the video expressed their appreciation for the developer team going to such lengths. It does show the team loves their game and will go the extra mile to make sure everything stays consistent with the universe.

Some replies to the video have even expressed how the new clip makes more sense in a real-world setting. One fan says it leaves more room for the spring, while another says the double-stack version is more efficient.
