Since the late nineties, Noel Gallagher and his brother Liam Gallagher haven’t been on the nicest terms, and their years-long feud eventually led to theOasissplitting in 2009 after the former left the band. The falling off between the two brothers can be traced back to their time on the third album, which, despite its commercial success, left a lot to be desired for the lead guitarist.
Coming off the back of two highly acclaimed albums, Oasis’Be Here Nowhit shelves in 1997, which remains the band’s lead guitarist’s one big regret.

However, creating the band’s third album would become a nightmare for its members, as producer Owen Morrisrecalledthe two brothers were at each other’s throats.
Noel had decided Liam was a s*** singer. Liam decided he hated Noel’s songs. So on we went. Massive amounts of drugs. Big fights. Bad vibes. S*** recordings.
Despite being a commercial hit upon its release,Be Here Nowfailed to make it big among critics, and some even claimed that it marked the definitive end to the Britpop movement.

Similar to its detractors,Noel Gallagherwasn’t a big fan ofBe Here Now, which heregrettedmaking, stressing that“You can’t still write songs about the man in the street”, after the success of their two albums.
That’s the one regret I have as a songwriter. It would have been a different story completely. I was so engrossed in what Oasis had become. I found it difficult to think outside of those parameters. Once you start buying fur coats, there’s a tipping point. You can’t still write songs about the man in the street after that.
Opposed to the songwriter’s detest for the third album, his brother had a polar opposite take on theBe Here Nowand even called out his former bandmate over his complaints with the album.
Liam Gallagher Doesn’t Share His Brother’s Dislike forBe Here Now
The Gallagher brothersdon’t exactly see eye to eyeon many fronts, andBe Here Nowis one of them. Unlike his former bandmate, Liam Gallagher felt the album was a“top record”,statingthat the length is the lone thing that is going against it, and called out his brother over his critical take on it,
If [Noel] didn’t like the record that much, he shouldn’t have put the f***ing record out in the first place, I don’t know what’s up with him, but it’s a top record, man, and I’m proud of it. It’s just a little long.”
But after years of quarrels, it seems the Gallagher brothers have finally buried the hatchet as Oasisannounceda world tour in 2025.
