As we approach the end of September, fans are yet again gearing up for the monthlyRustServer Wipe on the game’s Console Edition.
TheRustServer Wipe can be a bit of a confusing and complicated thing if you’re new to the game, so we’ve broken it down to the basics. Here’s everything you need to know about the September Server Wipe inRust, including the exact date and time that it will take place.
What Is TheRustConsole Server Wipe?
On the final Thursday of every month, theRustServer Wipe takes place and completely resets the game’s servers to default and wipes the progress of every player on the server. Once the wipe takes place, players will find that all of their existing buildings, items, and more will be gone.
There are multiple versions of the server wipe, with some also resetting player’s blueprints too, but this isn’t always the case.
For those new toRust, this may seem like a strange occurrence to completely reset everyone’s progress, but there is good reasoning behind it. Not only does this allow new players to join servers without getting dominated by those with maxed-out gear, but it also keeps the servers fresh and healthy.
Sometimes when a server becomes extremely populated and full of buildings and players, it can cause lag and other stability issues. The monthly wipe prevents this from being a constant issue for players.

When Is The NextRustConsole Server Wipe?
The nextRustServer Wipe is set to take place on Thursday, September 30th at 11AM PST / 2PM EST / 7PM BST.
According to the game’s developers, there may be a short period of downtime that occurs with the server wipe, which will simply be to conduct some maintenance before things come back online.
So when the wipe occurs, don’t fret if you can’t jump back in straight away as it could take up to 20 minutes before servers come back online.
