The end of Chapter 3 Season 2 is approaching as Epic Games confirms the existence of an upcomingFortnitelive event for 2022, with an in-game countdown gearing players up for the big finale.
Titled ‘Collision’, the upcoming live event had been rumoured for quite some time. As Chapter 3 Season 2’s story focused on the fight between the IO and Resistance, fans can likely expect a huge battle to take place in what Epic Games describe as ‘the fate of the Zero Point’.

Fortnite Countdown Appears In-Game As Epic Games Confirm Live Event For 2022
If you’ve noticed a new countdown appear in theFortnitelobby, you may have been left wondering what exactly it’s for. Well, Epic Games has confirmed the upcoming live event forSaturday, June 4th, 2022followed by the beginning of a new season shortly after.
The one-time event kicks off at1PM PT / 4PM ET / 9PM BST, with the playlist reportedly going live 30 minutes beforehand. Plus, anyone who logs in from 8AM ET on the day of the event will receive an exclusive loading screen and lobby track for free.

It’s unclear exactly what’s going to happen in the event, but going off of the teaser image posted in Epic Games' latest blog post, a huge battle with the Mech is likely about to take place. The officialFortniteTwitter account also teased the event by saying “On June 4th, you’ll be transported to an experience that’s out of this world”, suggesting that we may be leaving the island for the live event.
Epic has also confirmed that there will be new Mecha Weapons Team Outfits available in the Item Shop during the lead up to the “collision” event. More details on the event can be found in the latestEpic Games blog post.
