The new act ofValorantis live, and with it comes the promise of a new agent coming soon. There has been a lot of speculation regarding the arrival of a new agent, with players reading into subtle hints planted in the reveal trailer of the new map Abyss and the announcement trailer of Act 9 episode 1.

In the Abyss reveal trailer, a monstrous hand was revealed, stuck in an hourglass-shaped vessel that woke up after some bullets penetrated the glass. Along with this, in the Episode 9 Act 1 trailer, vines are seen coming out of the ground over Jett’s blades and a phantom, which causes speculation about the sentinel-like abilities of the new agent, which seems to be drawing heavy inspiration from Hermit Purple from Jojo’s bizarre adventures.

Although Riot has not officially announced the arrival of a new agent, it is still obvious that we will be seeing one in the next act in 3 months, if not in the current act. Riot has sown seeds of speculations themselves by teasing similar things in the last two trailers released by them.

This gave a lot of players ‘Jojo’ feels as they drew direct comparisons with the Hermit Purple strand of Joseph Joestar fromJojo’s Bizzare Adventures, commenting on the similarities between the two, one fan wrote:

The similarities between the two are very close, as both have vines as their soul weapons. Valorant’s anime influence has never been more obvious than with the speculations of this new agent, who is alleged to be drawn from the slate of Hermit Purple.

With Arcane Finishing, Valorant Needs to Step Up as the Next Riot Games Adaptation
These are, however, just speculations, at the end of the day, arising from drawing a comparison between the two latest trailers shared by Riot in which similar-looking hints were placed towards the end of the trailers, and they were obvious in relating both without prejudice.
This Is Not The First Time Riot Hints A New Agent Via Player Cards
According to some speculations, this new character is theorized to be the unknown person seen standing atop a building in the Digihex player card, which was given out during Act 1 of the Evolution episode back in 2023. Both characters have the same clawlike hands. This would not be the first time Riot has teased an agent via player cards, they did the same with Deadlock and Chamber.
InValorant’snew episode’s battlepass there is a player card titled “In Bloom”, which features similar elements to the vines revealed in the latest trailer. It has a silver and purple flower in the middle, surrounded by vines of the same color encircling the flower, and in the background, the same hourglass-shaped prison is visible, as seen in the Abyss map reveal trailer.
