However, his career appears to be going nowhere after the failure of the superhero film’s sequel and a couple of other failed films. His latest theatrical release,Harold and the Purple Crayon, is projected to become another disastrous entry from the actor.

Levi had a promising career beginning, starring as Chuck Bartowski in the cult action comedyChuck. He also landed the famous gig of voicing Flynn Rider in Disney’sTangledand he was even nominated for a Tony Award for his Broadway performance inShe Loves Me.

Levi’s poor choice of films was only one of the problems that began to doom his career. Some of the actions of the actor whenShazam! Fury of the Godscame out can only be best described as cringe. In a series of X posts, Levi allegedly blamed the marketing of the film andthe Snyder fansfor his film’s failure (via Deadline).
One of his social media posts also seemed to blameDwayne Johnsonfor meddling with things inShazam! 2(via THR). He was also literally begging fans to choose to see his DC sequel in theaters over Keanu Reeves’John Wickin theaters (via X). Levi’s conservative politics also didn’t sit well with him as his opinions have often rubbed a section of fans the wrong way.

Fans on X agreed that the actor’s career is definitely spiraling out of control. Some fans shared that his choice of roles could be one of the reasons for his downfall. Others expressed genuine concern for him, especially since he voiced one of their favorite animated character Flynn Rider. Some of the fan reactions read:
We have never witnessed a down fall this badpic.twitter.com/gNcHMoMrsi

Wait HE VOICED RIDER??? Ye he fell off
I was at a Fan Expo last year and literally NO one was ever in his line each time I walked pastpic.twitter.com/2hBzzehEmO
i am still puzzled why they decided to cast zachary levi, an adult man, as the main character of an adaptation about a child with a magic crayon. no kid that likes that book is gonna wanna see that.

From Chuck to this, what a fall down…
However, X might be a little too premature in declaring his career is over. Levi can still make a comeback to mainstream films with one solid success but the circumstances of the film business should also favor him.
