The cultural phenomenon that a work of literature could bring to the world was truly felt when author J.K. Rowling brought out the first book of herHarry Potterseries. Soon after, she found herself becoming one of the most successful writers in history with the worldwide sensation she managed to create with her novels in the series, leading to an even greater success with the subsequent films by Warner Bros.
And more than a decade since both the films and the literary series concluded, there have been several instances where the reboot of the franchise was being discussed. And now, those speculations have been confirmed with reports of the author joining the upcomingHarry PotterTV series as an executive producer. Although, it seems like fans are not here for it at all.
Author J.K. Rowling Joins TheHarry PotterTV Series As Executive Producer
The news thatJ.K. Rowlingis not part of the upcomingHarry Potterreboot series would’ve been much more of a surprise than the recent reports confirming that she is the executive producer for the show. Being connected to almost everything related to Harry Potter as the original creator of the literary series, the author is trying to execute everything the way she wants.
This has led to her assuming the role of the producer of the upcoming series, which is still in its initial development stage at Warner Bros. The news about the recreation of the original film series by the company was revealed quite a while back, and it seems like things are finally starting to kick into high gear after the author’s introduction to the project.
As reported byDeadline, the show’s creation has gained traction, with many screenwriters and directors stepping up to try and pitch their ideas to Rowling for recreating her work on the silver screen in the future. These individuals includeMartha Hillier,Kathleen Jordan,Tom Moran,andMichael Lesslie.
So far, WB has commissioned these writers to come up with their ideas for this prestigious IP, and if selected, would go for further consideration by Warner Bros. Television. Despite all these developments, it seems like the fans of the novels and films aren’t as excited as everyone expected them to be.

One of the most revolutionary and era-defining literary and cinematic offerings may be getting the silver screen treatment that would further enhance and expand the story, but fans seem to not be too keen on this idea, calling it something that may potentially ruin their memories of the past glory of the franchise.

While there may be many more reasons for many not wanting the creation of the TV series, we would just have to wait and watch what the show has in store for us.
