Four unique Warhammer 40,000 factions will be available in Dawn of War IV: the Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Dawn of War IV Looks To Bring The Series Back To Its Roots

John French, an author for Black Library, is co-writing the game’s story, which promises to be “the biggest Dawn of War saga to date.” You’ll be able to play through the campaign either solo or inco-operative play, with the story being supported through fully animated cutscenes.

On the gameplay side, the classic Dawn of War gameplay you know and love is back, along with the ability to build your own base up to help support Warhammer 40,000’s “bloodthirsty combat.”

In addition to the campaigns, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV promises the return of Last Stand, AI battles in Skirmish, or multiplayer that offers 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 gameplay modes.

That’s not all the Dawn of War news happening as of late. Earlier this week saw the release of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition, though it wasn’t without controversy. Fans were unhappy that the iconic “Space Marine scream” was removed from the intro cinematic, with people even going so far as to say that it ruined the game’s remaster.

Suffice to say, Dawn of War fans are a little passionate, and they’re hoping that Dawn of War IV, especially in the hands of new developers, can deliver.
