ValorantEpisode 6 update is now live across all regions. The new patch is highly important for Competitive-focused players as it changes the way you used to gain or lose rating after winning or losing a match in the Competitive mode.
According to the official patch notes, the Ranked Rating (RR) gains/losses will now depend slightly more on winning or losing the match, and slightly less on the round the difference. It means you may expect a bit higher RR gains for close wins and a bit fewer gains for dominant victories. Of course, your performance bonus is still there as an additional factor.

The impact of individual performance has also changed a bit based on the difference between your rank and your MMR. If you are playing in a rank below your MMR, you will gain higher RR for playing well and gaining a win. On the other hand, if you play in a rank above your MMR, you will lose less RR for playing bad and losing the match. These changes are expected to help you reach a rank close to your MMR quickly if you do play well enough.
Aside from the aforementioned changes in Ranked Rating, you can expect a change in the competitive map pool soon. Currently, the Lotus map is available in a dedicated queue for one week, but when the period is over, it will join the Competitive and Unrated map pool along with the reworked version of Split through Patch 6.1. On the other hand, Bind and Breeze will be removed from the map pool temporarily.
Unfortunately, there is no dedicated queue for the reworked version of Split to allow players to adapt the new changes, but you can explore the new version of the map solely or with friends in a custom match. After all, the changes aren’t too big that you can’t handle in a match.
Moreover, the new patch will allow most damaging Agent utilities to destroy the breakable door in Lotus as well as other breakable surfaces in other maps. Keep in mind that molotovs are excluded from these utilities.
