American R&B singer, songwriter, television presenter, and actor Ray J is known for a lot of things and talents, and one of them includes having charmed his way to a lot of ladies. But while his track record includes having made an infamous s*x tape with the reality TV star Kim Kardashian, he is now being deemeduglyby someone.

This ‘someone’ is none other than the Trinidadian rapper, singer, and songwriter Nicki Minaj, who has gained fame in the entertainment industry for more than just her beauty, being deemed the ‘Queen of Rap.’ As much as she may be proud of her own stunning nature, the singer didn’t hesitate to ostensibly deeply hurt Ray J after recently calling him ugly to his face.
Nicki Minaj Made Ray J’s ‘Heart Drop’ by Calling Him Ugly to His Face
Nicki Minajhas allured a lot of fans through her unparalleled beauty and vocals that have her credited as one of the most influential rappers of all time, but she has also gained a lot of attention for her ‘no-nonsense behavior.’ If anything, she is as blunt and bold as can be, speaking out loud her thoughts and feelings straight to people’s faces irrespective of the consequences.
That said, her recent victim seems to have been none other than the old industry player, Ray J. This happened during the pair’s recent Instagram Live session, which turned out to be more awkward, cringe, and embarrassing than hilarious to many, as the pair dived into all sorts of random conversations. It was in this very session that theTusasinger called the R&B crooner ‘ugly.’

At one point in the conversation, Minaj asked him how he would look at someone he liked. To this, Ray J candidly confessed (viaONIKA LIVE):
I ain’t flirted in so long, Nicki, I don’t even know how to be attractive no more. I don’t know. I ain’t been attractive in, like, years, so I don’t know how to be attractive. I just know how to be honest. And I’m telling you right now.

It’s worth noting that earlier this year, in February, theOne Wishsinger and his estranged wife Princess Love announced their divorce for the fourth time since their marriage back in 2016. After this announcement, reports had it that the singer was heartbroken as he claimed on theClub Shay Shaypodcast in June 2024 that he’d be ‘devastated’ if Love moved on (viaPEOPLE).

That said, his comments seem rather understandable as Ray J comes across as fishing sympathy and compliments from theBang Bangsinger in her Live. But praise was hardly what he got, for Minaj responded straight to his face:
So, listen, Ray J, youareugly. But you don’t have to say that. You gotta learn and be confident in yourself. Ugly people, you know, can do things too!

Wow, ouch. That inevitably stung badly, for theSexy Can Isinger was then seen shaking his head as he replied to her comment: “That’s not right. That hurt me, Nicki. You hurt me. Now you hurt me. [Both chuckle] Yo, Nicki, why’d you hurt me like that? Like, you made my heart drop. Now imma go get a nose job. I don’t know what’s wrong with me! I need to get concealed.”
But even as the two chuckled on Live at this hilarious exchange of comments presumably because theBarbie Worldsinger only called him ‘ugly’ as a joke, Minaj once again shot down Ray J. As the latter went on to talk about how he needed to get concealed or get something done to his face, she said straight to his face, “Boy, shut up. You want attention so bad. Sit down.”

Well, for the record, the 43-year-old singerdidearn quite some limelight over the s*x tape he made withKim Kardashian(which reportedly drove Kris Jenner mad), so calling him ‘ugly’ may not be something everyone would agree with. And yet, perhaps the worst part was when Minaj hung up on her co-Live partner after he repeatedly called her ‘beautiful.’

Going forward in the same Instagram Live, Ray J went on to pull off some really cringe moves as he began biting his lip, wide-eyed, and pouting on camera, prompting theSuper Freaky Girlto issue a firm, “Don’t ever do that again, in your life.” But it didn’t stop there, of course, for the TV presenter kept piling her with awkward compliments and then apologizing for them.
Complimenting the rapper on her appearance, theAnother Day in Paradisesinger said at one point, “But it’s just something that you do to your fans and the people around you. Like, you just so magnetic and so you magnetizing me to the energy and I love it. Like, I f****** love this s***, Nicki. I love being on live with you, I ain’t even going to lie. I’m having a good time.”

Even when Minaj came to the conclusion that Ray Jwantedto be unattractive at this point as a ‘safety mechanism,’ the latter continued to heap praise on the singer, calling her ‘beautiful.’ To this, she warned him, saying, “Honestly, imma hang up. We’re not going to play like that. I know why you’re doing that. But, trust me, it won’t be the ending you want. So stop playing like that.”
However, Ray J seemingly took her lightly as he went on to say, “I’m sorry. I just think you’re beautiful, and imma always say that to you every time I see you or anytime I get a chance to.” But right when he managed to squeak out a “Don’t hang up on me,” Minajdidhang up on him, keeping her word.
Well, to say the least, this is proof thatyou don’t mess with Nicki Minaj, especially if she has already warned you not to.
