The unique aspect of this Legendary Hero is that shecan be recruited by factions pertaining to both Kislev and The Empire. The quests you’ll need to complete to unlock her are nearly identical regardless of which of the two races you’re playing. That said, factions that have a strong economy in the early game will have an easier time unlocking her than those who don’t.
Unlocking & Recruiting Ulrika Magdova
Before you jump into a game your first order of business is to head over toTotal War Accessandlink your account if you haven’t already. If this is your first time visiting Total War Access, make sure to also grab some of the other FLC found there like the Ogre Mercs, Rakarth, or Gotrek & Felix. Once you’ve claimed Ulrika Magdova via Total War Access you can boot up the game and start a new campaign as either Kislev or The Empire.
“Slaughter on the Steppes,” the quest to unlock Ulrika Magdova, pops up once your Legendary Lord reaches level 12.If you’re playing as The Empire, your objective will be to build someTall Walls. Meanwhile, Kislev players will be required to construct aFrozen Outpostinstead. Both of these buildingscan only be constructed in main settlements that are at least level three. Once you’ve managed to construct the required building, you’ll be issued a new quest called “Bait the Bloodborn.”

The second quest is the same for both races and requires you togather 15,000 gold. Acquiring that much gold can be quite difficult in the early game depending on which faction you’re playing, but it’s certainly not impossible. It helps to save your unique quests for this very moment as each of them awards 5,000 gold. After you manage to put together 15K gold, you’ll be given the choice to either recruit or execute Ulrika. There are some benefits to killing her but they only last 10 turns, so you’re much better off recruiting her instead.

Ulrika Magdova Skills & Abilities
Ulrika is a very powerful and versatile Legendary Hero that you’ll want to attach to your main army. Her unique traitincreases the leadership and recruit rank of all Kislev or Empire melee infantryin the army she’s attached to, and she can unlock a number of other abilities that buff the rest of your units in multiple ways. Ulrika herself starts off with the Immortality trait, can become Unbreakable, and gets access to a mount starting at level five.
The only downside to Ulrika is that she’sprimarily a ranged character with a secondary focus on melee. Ranged specials are generally not very good in Total War: Warhammer 3, however, she makes up for that by also being a competent spellcaster. Ulrikagets access to the Lore of Shadows, one of thebest Lores of Magic in Immortal Empires, and can comfortably take on the role of mage in addition to ranged combat specialist. She’s not too bad in melee combat either, especially once you invest in the right skills, but you’ll still want to keep her away from the front lines regardless.
