The 25th anniversary of theOne Pieceanime has brought good news and bad news for fans. The bad news is that the series is going on a six-month hiatus starting October 13th and will make a return in April 2025. The good news, on the other hand, is that between this hiatus, a remastered version ofOne Piece’sFish-Man Island Saga and a special anniversary episode will be streamed for fans.

As the Egghead Island arc holds a lot more importance than any of the previous arcs, Toei Animation wants to make sure that they live up to the expectations of fans and do justice to the upcoming battles.
However, the main confusion about the entire news is why they are releasing a new version of the already-perfect Fish-Man Island saga. According to some fans, the reason behind this is that Toei is trying to rectify the problems that started in the pacing ofOne Pieceafter the time skip.

The Remastered Version of Fish-Man Island Saga
With the release ofOne Pieceanime episode 1122, Toei Animation made the startling revelation that the main narrative of the series will go on a six-month hiatus. It also revealed that the remastered version of the Fish-Man Island saga will start on June 05, 2025, and will run until July 18, 2025.

The episode count will be condensed from 58 to 21, helping in the story by removing unnecessary details. According to a video posted on theONE PIECEOfficial YouTube Channel, all the scenes have been reshot and new animation sequences have been added to the series. Also, new opening and ending themes have also been included with the 21-episode arc.
According to the glimpses shared for the remastered version of the Fish-Man Island saga in the video, it looks like the animation quality and the story development have improved greatly.
