The anticipation regardingWarhammer 40K: Space Marine 2is rising day by day. This third-person shooter hack-n-slash video game developed by Saber Interactive is set to release on June 12, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
Now, this is going to be the direct sequel of its predecessor, which came out over a decade ago. Pressure will be on the successor, asSpace Marine(2011) was extremely successful. And the major reason for this success is the main protagonist of the game, Captain Titus. That is why, to replicate the success, Saber is going to put the most essential aspect of the game in the sequel yet again.

At Gamescom 2024, the Chief Creative Officer of Saber Interactive, Tim Willits, talked withWCCF TECHaboutWarhammer 40K:Space Marine 2. The upcoming title is surely going to tackle the burden of huge expectations from the OG fans of the franchise.

And to fulfill that expectation, Willits left no stone unturned. That is why he confirmed that the popular character of the first game, Captain Demetrian Titus, will be a part of the sequel too. He stated:
Definitely. Our storyline with Titus
Titus was a firstborn captain and commander of the Ultramarines 2nd Company and later a Primaris Marine Lieutenant. He fought for the Imperium of Man for more than 200 Terran years, and that is why he is considered to be one of the greatest heroes of the Ultramarines. And he took the spotlight in Space Marine and made the title huge.
Now, after the addition of him in the second game as well, fans are expecting the same. Popular actorHenry Cavillis also one of them, who is a huge fan of this franchise and could be seen in a TV series of the franchise.Ever wonder which character he can play?
Different Path for Titus in Space Marine 2
At the end of the first game, Titus was demoted. After that, he went on to spend 200 years in Deathwatch. That is why the Chief Creative Officer stated that the upcoming game“is a kind of fresh start for him.”

Willits also explained why Titus’ journey in this game is going to be a bit different:
We tried to add more personality and emotions into his story and his relationship with his squadmates and how they feel about him. He needs to win their trust while also saving the universe, so it is more than just a run-and-gun game. Titus’s story is an important part of the experience.
Titus’ life is not going to be that smooth. There is one of his squadmates who sometimes gets very confrontational with our favorite character. Also, there is going to be an event between them in the game as well.
Everyone is hopingSpace Marine 2to surpass the legacy of its predecessor. And now the addition of the most popular character of the franchise might have shown the path to do that.
