Taylor Sheridan reveals why he moved from acting to writing his own projects

He had a steady profession as an actor, but it somehow felt stagnant. In his interview withGold Derby, the 54-year-old filmmaker explained why he switched jobs:
It evolved over time as I got older. I worked on this show for a couple years. I was 40 years old, and I was like, ‘You know what? This is about my ceiling. This is all I’m ever going to be, is twelfth banana on a TV show,’ and it felt very limiting to me creatively. So I quit and started writing.
Despite leaving the acting profession, we still see Sheridan take up cameo roles in his own projects. He remains grateful for his experiences because they taught him many things about the process of developing stories.
