TheGame of Thronesspinoffs kicked off with 2022’sHouse of the Dragon. The series managed to bring backGOTfans after the underwhelming reception to the final season of the mothership series. FollowingHouse of the Dragon, other spinoffs have been announced and are in various stages of production.

One of them is a show based on George R.R Martin’s novellaThe Hedge Knight. Now, the casting of the series has been finalized, and Peter Claffey & Dexter Sol Ansell will play the Dunk & Egg in the series.

While the casting news is exciting, one must keep in mind that Martin has developed only three novellas based on the two charactersThe Hedge Knight,The Sworn Sword,andThe Mystery Knight,and has plans for more. He toldDeadlinethat ifThe Hedge Knightseries is successful, other stories will also be adapted.

David Zaslav Confirms Late 2025 Max Release forThe Hedge KnightSeries
The upcomingGame of Thronesspinoff series,Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight,is currently in pre-production. The lead actors have been cast and filming is expected to start soon. Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav confirmed recently that the series will premiere on Max in late 2025.
He further stated that George R.R. Martin is hard at work on developing the series (which he’s executive producing). Zaslav said (viaThe Hollywood Reporter),
“George R.R. Martin is in preproduction for the new spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which will premiere in late 2025 on Max.”

The official synopsis of the show reads as follows,

In addition to this series, HBO is further developing another spin-off series centered onAegon Targaryen’s conquestof Westeros. The second season ofHouse of the Dragonis set to premiere on Max this June. It sure seems likeGame of Thronesfans are in for a treat in the coming years.
