The extremely popularOne Piecefranchise has recently seen a major shift as the former editor of the series, Kaito Anayama, has finally leftOne Pieceafter a year. Anayama will be officially replaced by Junya Fukuda, the former editor of Gege Akutami’sJujutsu Kaisen.Fukuda will be the 15th editor ofOne Piecein the span of almost thirty years.

An editor holds a lot of significance for any series, and their role is extremely crucial for the smooth flow of chapters. From helping with the art style of the manga to dealing with the publishers, an editor holds all the important jobs that are necessary to publish a chapter of the manga. It is believed that after the manga creator, their job holds the most significance.
Fukuda joiningOne Piecefeels like a big move, and there are many who believe that it might not be a good move after all. These speculations come from the fact that Fukuda admitted that he knew about the controversial and disheartening ending ofJujutsu Kaisen.

Junya Fukuda will replace Kaito Anayama asOne Pieceeditor
Viz Media recently reported through their popular blog,Mangaka Musings, thatOne Piececreator,Eiichiro Oda, has confirmed the replacement of Anayama as theOne Pieceeditor. His works includeBlack Clover,Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King (movie),Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs, etc. His joining theOne Piecefranchise is a big landmark for his career and for the series, as he will bring a new perspective to the story and might help make it even more popular.
Considering the fact that he is the 15th editor ofOne Pieceand the story is in the final saga, it is safe to assume that he might be the last editor theOne Piecefranchise will see. Hopefully, he will help Oda takeOne Pieceto its deserving conclusion.

Junya Fukuda knew about the ending ofJujutsu Kaisen
While it is not uncommon for editors to know the story and conclusion of the series they are working on, prominent stories likeOne Piecehave large-scale endings that can be controversial at times.Jujutsu Kaisenwas the prime example of thisas it went through a lot of contentious criticism for its conclusion and its mangaka,Gege Akutamiwas especially targeted.
Fans were not happy with howAkutami concluded the storyand thus the franchise lost all the fame it built over the years. Seeing the controversial end ofJujutsu Kaisen, manyOne Piecefans are not happy with the franchise’s decision to appoint Fukuda as the new editor. There is a chance that his contribution to theOne Piecenarrative might not be favorable at all.
