When Friends began [in 1994], we were all so wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. We couldn’t believe what was happening, and we had no idea what was coming.
Regardless, she has immense gratitude for what the show became and how it shaped her life. A big part of it she credited to the fact that much like Rachel, she also found her confidence through the show.
I miss a lot about that time. Having a job that was absolute, pure joy. I miss getting to be with people I love massively and respect beyond words.
She further stated that thinking about those days makes her feel a profound sense of nostalgia. Mostly because, she seems to feel that not being exposed to so much of the world’s horror gave her a feeling of relative security.
When I think back on the ’90s, it makes me nostalgic — period. They were simpler times. This is going to sound odd, but there was a sense of safety in the world. We weren’t exposed to as much as we are now.
She added that to her, those days feel“lighter”.Especially, as she believes,“There was a lot more human connection”.While this can be inferred as her sense of apprehension to today’s much more individualistic lifestyle, there seems to be more to her statement.
