While some find the title to be criminally underrated, others tend to find it to be a ghastly watch. The latter reason stands out prominently because the show tends to follow a simple pattern of how the protagonists would not only defeat the villains of the arc but also humiliate them, to the point that it ruined the essence of the overall story.

A fan took to social media to share how Tabata-San has consistently followed the same recipe, listing the names of the villains that have been defeated using the same notion.

Yūki Tabata’s Repetition of The Same Idea RuinedBlack Clover’sAppeal

WhenYūki Tabata’sBlack Cloverreceived an adaptation, it quickly became the talk of the town. The show narrated the story of Asta, a young boy who did not possess any magic in a magical world and had only one dream: to become the Wizard King.

The show picked up its pace when the protagonist received a mysterious five-leaf Grimoire, which had the Devil hidden inside it. However, many people voiced their frustration over the show being too similar to other Shonen series, and how it had constantly borrowed ideas from other shows, including Masashi Kishimoto’sNaruto.

But this was not the main reason the show received such mixed responses from the fans; it tended to follow hero supremacy, where villains did not stand a chance against heroes in their battles.

Surprisingly, this was not the only instance that featured the villains tasting defeat because the mangaka followed the same notion, where the antagonists had set some high expectations for the fans. However, when they entered the main fight, those same names did not stand a chance against the knights of the Clover Kingdom.

A fan shared this insight onr/BlackClover, where they stated how villains like Heath, Mars, Lucifer, Vetto, The Shinning Generals, Dante, and so many more, were not only coming up short but also experiencing disgrace from the knights.

Although fans love it when heroes win, constantly winning without tasting any loss ruins the importance of winning. As a result, fans did not shy away from criticizing the series on Reddit.

Black CloverFaced Backlash From Fans For Not Giving Enough Victories to Its Villains

A common complaint that surroundedBlack Cloverwas how it denied enough victories to its villains. Despite featuring powerful magic, fierce battles, and high stakes, not giving ample victories to the villains in the respective arcs reduced its appeal to the fans.

When a fan shared the insight on Reddit, other fans decided to share their thoughts on the post, complaining that repeating the same recipe for success would not always work. They commented,

Nevertheless, if the show featured enough nail-biting moments, it would have not only led to a more profound character development but also the hard-fought victory would have kept the fans invested in the show.
