Kunis found herself engulfed in trouble when she along with her husband, Ashton Kutcher sent letters to a judge following Danny Masterson’s rpe conviction, viaBBC. HerThat ’70s Showco-star who played Steven Hyde on the sitcom, was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison on two counts of rpe in 2003.
The duo sent letters to Judge Charlaine Olmedo before his sentencing, which went viral after independent journalist Tony Ortega obtained them. Their insensitive decision led to a major backlash from the public, leading them to make an apology video.

In theapology video, the 40-year-old actress stated that the letters“were intended for the judge to read and not to undermine the testimony of the victims or retraumatize them in any way. We would never want to do that and we’re sorry if that has taken place.”
Whereas, Kutcher reflected that the convicted actor’s family approached the couple, asking them to write character letters.Kunis added,
We support victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future…Our heart goes out to every single person who’s ever been a victim of sxual assault, sxual abuseorr*pe.
