Supernaturalhas given the fans memories that will last a lifetime. An unlikely contender that soon grew into a cultural phenomenon, this story about two brothers on an eternal road trip hunting demons and fighting angels has driven us to hell and back — sometimes with a pitstop in purgatory.

Eric Kripke brings Supernatural to a close after 15 seasons.

Eric Kripke’s labor of love, however, did not begin and end with Sam, Dean, and their family theatrics. The saga extends even to Sarah Michelle Gellar and her Buffy days. Coincidentally, her reputation as a vampire slayer could have come quite in handy to the Winchester boys, but Kripke had other plans in mind.

SupernaturalMisses Out on an Epic Crossover

From the golden era of CW, shows that kept us company in our angsty teenage years and carried us into adulthood were also some of the last best batches of television to ever exist. Every project beyond that era has been an unoriginal replica inspired by the themes that worked in the ’90s and the early Aughts. From sitcoms to drama, a select few paved the path for the rest of the modern world of entertainment.

One of these select few includesBuffy the Vampire Slayer. Stylish, sexy, witty, and upbeat to the core, there was no hating the show — no matter what demography it was preaching to. Incidentally, this supernatural drama about vampires, demons, and other infernal creatures created by Joss Whedon was also released on The WB, a network that would later become The CW.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Most Pause-Worthy Moments

As such, it is only natural to assume that the two most epic television shows about supernatural monster hunters would collaborate in a widely celebrated crossover event. GivenEric Kripke’s penchant for taking the Winchester boys into far and wide realms, including the Scooby-Doo animated universe as well as the real world, the possibility of crossing over into Buffy’s universe (or vice versa) could not be a stretch beyond imagination.

Eric Kripke Shuts DownBuffyxSupernaturalIdea

As the creator of one of the best television shows out there, Eric Kripke had an imagination that could make even J.J. Abrams blush. Kripke’s shows refuse to be repetitive in their episodic plots, which seems to be the case with so many projects today. He wields originality and creativity like two great weapons and never lets go — be it for five seasons or fifteen.

As such, theSupernaturalcreator even had the blueprints for a movie mapped out in his brain when he was on Season 3 of the series. However, when talking about a possible crossover event in the show’s early years, Kripke was outright dismissive of the case. In aninterviewwithTVweb, he revealed:

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Most Pause-Worthy Moments

There’s no plans for crossovers at the moment, no. We’re sort of in our own scary universe, you know. One Tree Hill doesn’t want to come to our world.

Jensen Ackles Thought Supernatural Was Just a “Weekly Horror Movie” Until 1 Incident Made Him Realize He Hit the Jackpot

Supernaturalindeed doesn’t need theOne Tree Hillcharacters to waltz in and shake up their own little universe of epic friendships and bromance with some over-the-top relationship drama. But one has to admit, aBuffy the Vampire Slayercrossover would have certainly hit hard.
