Back in 2022, Charlie Cox sat for an interview withGQwherein he talked about how excited he was for working alongside Vincent D’Onofrio again. During their talks, Cox mentioned that he tried to get everything done in one single take.
I would attempt to do the most consistently truthful take from start to finish, almost like it’s a piece of theater. I want the director and the editor to be able to use any take of mine in its entirety.

However, Cox revealed that when he was done with his speech,Vincent D’Onofriohad to interrupt him and make a big speech himself. According to the actor, when the camera turned to the Kingpin actor, he knew that D’Onofrio wasn’t taking each take seriously.

During the interview, Cox mentioned that D’Onofrio was an actor who explored multiple sides of his character. According to Cox, there would be six to seven different variations in dialogue for the same scene. Although it was a good thing, the experimentation was costing a lot of time.

There were takes where he would start, and then, halfway through without the camera cutting, he would stop. He’d go back to the beginning. He walked out of the room. He came back in, got really frustrated with himself, he then did it again.
He further continued,

He then started again. And the take went on for ages. But at the end of it, there were about seven different versions of that one speech. Some of it very icy cold, and chilling, others violent and angry.
