In its three complete and fourth running seasons,The Boyshas yet to miss its shock value and unpredictability. Known for its unhinged gore and portrayal of violence, the show never shied away from depicting scenes that viewers possibly would have never imagined coming. A sequence from the latest fourth episode from the currently ongoing season delivered precisely on that very note, arguably making it one of the best ever from the Eric Kripke creation.
Starring Antony Starr as Homelander, season four had slowly crept so far toward setting up new dynamics for the character, within his team of the Seven, with his son, Ryan, as well as with himself. Yet, for season four, in talks with the crowd during Comic Con Experience (CCXP) Mexico (via antonystarrgifs on Instagram),Antony Starrteased a major uptick for his character of Homelander, surpassing even those mentioned above.
I’ve done some pretty weird sh*t in my career but there is something that happens in Season 4 that was the strangest thing I’ve ever done.
In many ways, fans have come to the conclusion that the tense, gritty, vengefully maniacal breakdown that Homelander goes through in the fourth episode was the moment Starr referred to. However, several others pointed out that there may be more incoming, as he had also added,
I will be sharing that on social media with you guys when that comes out and yeah, I’ll go into it. I’ll do a deep dive into how weird it was.
Noting that the 48-year-old has yet to take to his social media accounts and proclaim the scene as the one he referred to, chances run high of the incoming seasons outclassing even that masterclass of acting.
