Being one of the easiest characters to keep alive,you should have no problem saving Max in thisdifficult gruesome interactive horror game.
Max has a class clown personality.The saying “opposites attract” should have Max and Laura listed in the definition. While they do balance each other out as a couple, Max’s ambition deficiency sometimes clashes with Laura’s expectations and ambitions she has herself.
He is more of a follower than a leader and becomes dependent on others.Despite these flaws, he is a very friendly and caring character.

Unfortunately, you’ll only get a chance to play as Max in chapter 10.While there are a few key events that need to happen to help ensure Max’s safety, it will be in chapter 10 that you decide his fate.

Chapter 5: Choices Of Others
In Chapter 5, there are a few things you’ll need to do with the other beloved protagonists to ensure Max survives to the end. The first thing you’ll need to do isnot shoot the radio tower ceilingto keep Kaitlyn, Nick, and Abi safe.
After that, as Ryan, you must stop Dylan from turning bychoosing Desperate and Chainsaw when prompted to cut his hand off.
Chapter 7: Talking To Travis
When you’re playing as Laura in chapter 7,you should choose to be compliant and not call for help when prompted.
When Laura escapes the cell, have her grab the syringe and hide it in the cell.Don’t choose to have her grab the gun, so she sedates Travis rather than shooting him. This will prevent Travis from stabbing her in chapter 9 and prevent Max from dying later on.
Chapter 9: Shoot Chris
This is when you need to be careful of your choices as they could be the difference between life or death for Max.
In Chapter 9 you will be playing as Ryan. When Ryan has a choice as to which werewolf to shoot, he needs to shoot Chris with the silver bullet.This will cure Max off-screen and rid him of the infection.If you don’t shoot Chris, then Max will remain a werewolf into chapter 10.

Chapter 10: To Swim Or Not To Swim, That Is The Question
Unfortunately, this is the only chapter you will have control of this lovable character.The good news is, there is only one way you can get him killed.
As Max, you will wander a bit through the woods while looking for Laura.After finding her hat, you will head to the dock.While there will be no QTEs you need to worry about, you will be given an important choice to make.
While Max is walking down the dock, you will be given a choice to swim to shore or stay put.If you have Max swim to shore, there will be a werewolf waiting for him, and he will be killed.This is the only known on-screen death of Max.
If you choose for him to stay on the dock,he will be hiding on the island until the end of the final chapter.
When he is walking on the dock, whether he picks up Laura’s hat is not relevant to his survival.
