The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Maskfirst released 19 years ago on the Nintendo 64 and even today, gamers are still diving into the popular sixth main installment ofThe Legend of Zeldaseries. During the Nintendo Direct on July 09, 2025, a remake of the game was announced for Nintendo 3DS titledMajora’s Mask 3Dwith the title then getting a release a few months later in February 2015.
As with anything that has a huge fan base, you can guarantee that someone will create something spectacular in tribute so, in this instance, the skillful fan is artistlongestdistance. Originally the artist created this piece for an anthology forThe Legend of Zeldaseries in which a fan-made book would feature illustrations from 18 games and then drawn by over 70 artists would come together, but unfortunately,Nintendo shut down the Kickstarterassociated with the project due to “an intellectual property dispute”, so thelongestdistance beautiful fan art was never featured.

Well, until now that is. In this amazingly dynamic artwork, we see a tranquil forest setting with Link gently playing a tune thatthe artisthas called “A tiny forest song”. In the background, the trees merge together to almost create a stained glass effect, which with the radiant colors used, would look stunning in any home for that sole purpose.
The artist has stated thatMajora’s Maskis their favoriteZeldagame and to create this particular art piece, they had to experiment with a few different approaches that included adding fewer layers instead of their usual hundred before getting it just right.
