PS5 is undoubtedly this generation’s most popular gaming console, and it wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that Sony has cemented its dominance once again. Despite being affected by the Global Chip Shortage, the console is also on its way to overtake Sony’s previous console, the PS4.

The PS5 got a refreshed look last year.

Sony has been mindful of every step and has ensured players access the console’s best exclusives, ecosystem, and immersion environment. Sony has recently pushed the latest system update for the console, but fans still have a few features on the wishlist, and they have no clear idea about when they will be implemented.

The latest PS5 system update offers some decent quality-of-life improvements

As per an article published on the official PlayStationblogon July 01, 2025, the system update has been rolled out globally, and the PlayStation app will receive an update later this month. Some improvements implemented in the update will enhance the console owners’ experience.

The enhancements are as follows:

Audio input and output enhancements for the DualSense

As part of the recent update, the following improvements will be applied to the controller:

Share screen interactions and enhancements.

While it doesn’t directly affect the core gameplay experience, console owners will appreciate the following changes:

Changing the Brightness of the console’s power indicator

One can now change the Brightness of the power indicator on the console by going to [Settings] > [System] > [Beep and Light] and selecting [Brightness]

Bring back browsers themes and cross audio so I can use the mic in my controller and have my party come threw the speakers on my tv

Themes were a feature in the PlayStation 4 but was unfortunately was removed from its successor.

Wow more features I don’t use

It seems like Sony is doing good work ensuring that its console owners get a more fulfilling experience but can’t consider what they want from their console. Hopefully, it will listen to and implement these comments and requests soon.
