WithThe Last of Us Part IIa week out from its release, the game has already kicked off to an incredible start. The long-awaited title has alreadygarnered critical acclaimandreached an impressive milestone as the PS4’s fastest-selling exclusiveever released. Alongside the game’s critical and commercial success, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann addressed a bit more on what to expect fromPart IIand if we’ll see any additional content for the game in the future.

Duringa spoilercast withKinda Funny Games,The Last of Us Part IIlead director Neil Druckmann shared a bit more info on whether or not to expect DLC forPart II. When asked about the prospects of a larger story expansion (in the vein ofThe Last of Us: Left Behind) for the game, Druckmann addressed that currently there are “no plans” to release DLC forPart II.

Over the past several years, Naughty Dog has released standalone titles such asThe Last of Us: Left BehindandUncharted: The Lost Legacythat acted as “story DLC” forThe Last of UsandUncharted 4: A Thief’s End(respectively). With the release and reception of those two titles (especiallyLeft Behind), many fans had wondered whether Naughty Dog would provide a similar standalone story expansion forPart II. However, Druckmann clarified that, for the moment, it seems that the story told inPart IIis complete as is.

However, Druckmann did touch on the prospects of multiplayer forThe Last of Us Part II, which Naughty Dog announced last yearwould not be included with the game at launchdue to the scale of its single-player campaign. Though Druckmann didn’t provide any specific details on what to expect, he seemed to hint that the studio is working on some sort of multiplayer experience forThe Last of Usfans. It hasn’t been confirmed just yet whether this will be a new iteration of the “Factions” multiplayer mode from the originalThe Last of Usor something else entirely, but we’ll most likely hear more about it sometime in the future.

The Last of Us Part IIis available now exclusively on PS4.
