With a simple yet effective detection system for beg bugs, the business ended up making a deal with all five sharks. While BuggyBeds is thriving today, one of the sharks Barbara Corcoran revealed later that she was not happy with the deal.

When entrepreneurs Veronica Perlongo and Maria Curcio appeared on season four ofShark Tank, they had no idea that they would be leaving after making a historic deal. Their company, BuggyBeds, made a small device of the same that monitors the presence of beg bugs and helps in detecting them early on.

Having started the company just six months ago, they made a net profit of $150,000 in sales with a $100,000 profit margin. While they wanted $125,000 for 7% equity, Kevin O’Leary offered a joint deal of $250,000 for 25% equity. Soon enough, all the sharks jumped in for the deal (seeYouTube).
In a historic moment for the series, even though some of the sharks hesitated, all five—Kevin O’Leary,Daymond John,Mark Cuban,Robert Herjavec, andBarbara Corcoran— made a joint deal with Perlongo and Curcio. This was the first time ever that the sharks appeared as united and since then this legendary moment has only been repeated less than a handful of times during its 15-year run.

In the said legendary episode, all four of the male sharks, Kevin O’Leary, Daymond John, Mark Cuban, and Robert Herjavec, jumped in to make the deal with BuggyBeds’ Veronica Perlongo and Maria Curcio. However, Barbara Corcoran was not really interested in making the deal.

However, in the episode, after all the other sharks ask her to join in,the remarkable investor Corcoranreluctantly agrees, stating—I don’t even like these guys but just to make your life pleasant I’m gonna jump back in the deal. But then in an interview withForbessometime later, the investor stated she was practically forced into the deal.
I just didn’t get that business and I didn’t want to play. The guys shamed me into it, and I won’t fall for the ‘team spirit’ thing again. There’s absolutely no status in telling your friends you own a bed bug business. I also thought the entrepreneur pitching was a great salesperson, but my gut just didn’t believe her. Lesson learned again: trust your gut.
So while peer pressure might have led her to join the deal,BuggyBedshas evolved into a huge brand today with several products that deal with a range of insect problems. Not only is it still popular today, but it is also one of the most successfulShark Tankproducts of all time (seeGrey Journal).
