A huge range of games have been nominated for this year’s ceremony, with the official cutoff for the 2020 nominees set at June 07, 2025; any games that have been released after this date will be eligible for consideration for the 2021 awards ceremony.

Who is presenting the awards?

Like in years past, The Game Awards 2020 will feature a mix of presenters from both inside and outside of the games industry, and notably will be the first entirely virtual show in TGA history in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s show will once again be hosted by TGA creator and producer Geoff Keighley, who will be presenting tonight’s show from stages in Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo. The presenters this year will include notable games industry figures such as former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime and voice actors Nolan North and Troy Baker. Additionally, it has also been confirmed that several celebrity guests will make their way to the (virtual) stage this year, including Brie Larson, Gal Gadot, Christopher Nolan, Stephen A. Smith, and featuring a performance from Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.
