There is an update on TheAccountant 2,the sequel toThe Accountant, released in 2016, starring Ben Affleck. The original film saw Affleck play the role of a highly skilled certified public accountant (CPA) on the autism spectrum who goes by the name Christian Wolff. In the movie, Wolff is a forensic accountant for criminal organizations.
Upon finding inconsistencies in a legitimate robotics company, Wolff has to navigate through a perilous network of deception while simultaneously trying to be ahead of not only the law but also his criminal clients. The sequel to this crime-action thriller has found a new home.

In 2017,The Hollywood Reporterreported that Warner Bros. is going to make a sequel toThe Accountant.The lead actor in the movie Ben Affleck has been working with Warner Bros. for a long time now. The studio made his critically acclaimed movieArgo,which won the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Film Editing.
At the time, it was reported that Gavin O’Connor would be returning as the director. While there have been no changes regarding this, the movie has reportedly (viaThe Hollywood Reporter) moved studios as it is now going to be made at Amazon MGM Studios.

According to sources, this massive move from Warner Bros. to Amazon MGM seems to have happened last summer when the actors’ and writers’ strikes were in full force. The Warner Bros. studios’ priorities seem to have changed since David Zaslav started heading the conglomerate in 2022. Back when HBO Max’s streaming service was launched, features with such big names attached were a priority for the studios.

The Accountant 2will mark the fourth collaboration from the growing Artists Equity and Amazon MGM partnership. The previous three collaborations are Golden Globe-nominated sports marketing dramaAir,Jennifer Lopez’s chart-topping documentaryThe Greatest Love Story Never Told,and the upcoming movieUnstoppable, based on the true story of wrestler Anthony Robles.

Artists Equity will produceThe Accountant 2with 51 Entertainment’s Lynette Howell Taylor, and Mark Williams. Artists Equity’s Dani Bernfeld, Kevin Halloran, Michael Joe, and Alison Winter will work as executive producers on the movie. Other executive producers include Scott Lastaiti and Jamie Patricof.
