Yuki Tabata often faces ridicule forBlack Clover, and 9 times out of 10, it is just biased hatred. From the plot of the manga to the protagonist,Black Cloveris called unoriginal. But you don’t need to pay heed to these trolls who are out to hate on rivals of their favorite series.
However, even hardcoreBlack Cloverfans cannot deny the shortcuts that the mangaka has taken in some instances. The biggest loophole in the manga comes in the form of Acier Silva and her daughter, Noelle Silva.
Acier and Noelle Look More Like Twins than Mother and Daughter
Noelle Silva was a noblewoman of the Clover Kingdom’s House Silva and also a former captain of the Silver Eagle squad of Magic Knights. After giving birth to Noelle, she died due to Megicula’s curse. Most of her scenes in the manga depict her at the age of 33. However, she looks the exact same as her daughterNoelle, who was 15 at the beginning ofBlack Cloverand 17 during the Spade Kingdom Invasion arc.

Yes, Acier is Noelle’s mother, and the two are bound to have some similarities. But making them look exactly the same is just repeating the same character mold. Noelle was in her 30s when she died, yet she looks like a teenager in all her scenes. This has made her resemble Noelle even more.
Their appearances in their Valkyrie form make the resemblance even more clear. As a result, fans consider this laziness on the part ofYuki Tabatasince he simply copy pasted the two characters.
Yuki Tabata Might Have Made Noelle Resemble Acier for a Reason
Noelle’s siblings are of the opinion that Noelle looks exactly like their mother. This painful resemblance led Nozel to discriminate against Noelle throughout his childhood and teenage years. He verbally abused her and neglected her for years, and even her other two siblings, Solid and Nebra, did the same.
It was later revealed that Nozel saw a lot of his mother in Noelle and was terrified of losing her like their mother. His cruel treatment of her and his constant discouragement was supposed to keep Noelle away from being a Magic Knight. Thus,Nozel was protecting her in his own twisted way.

Making Noelle look exactly like Acier might have been a strategy used by Tabata to explain why she was being mistreated. However,that does not excuse Nozel for being a terrible brother. In fact, it might be considered lazy writing because Tabata justified Nozel, Solid, and Nebra’s horrible temperaments by just stating that Noelle looks and acts just like Acier and thus needs to be protected.
