In fact, the image itself took around three days to complete. Given thatNarutowas a weekly manga and Masashi Kishimoto spent three days just on a single layout shows how dedicated the mangaka is to his process.

Kobayashi noticed a sign in Pain’s scene that read ‘handkerchief.’ Obviously, he asked Kishimoto to explain the importance of the word. The author clarified that it was a subtle reference to another series calledBobobo-Bobobobo, a Weekly Shonen Jump manga from the early 2000s.
