Survivorhas long been raging as one of the best survival-based reality TV shows created to date, capturing global audiences with its immersive plotlines and never-ending adventures and drama. For decades, the show has been bringing about new contestants trying to survive while stranded on a remote island as they face challenging tasks to win the grand prize money.

In the adventurous grim and toil of it all, there has also been the birth of quite a few iconic moments, like contestants unleashing venomous insults on their fellow cast members out of exhaustion and annoyance at it all. In fact, one such moment where the contestant did the same even had Jeff Probst realize that they may as well have just filmed a hit filled, with drama to the brim!
TheSurvivormoment that had Jeff Probst realize he had shot a hit
Survival is never easy, especially if it is done on a stranded island where you not only have to make your way through but also have to face some really challenging tasks that might as well conquer your wits out. This, of course, brings about as much of an emotional pressure and toil as it does physical, and not everyone can get through it without breaking down or bursting out.
The same happened during the very first season of the show as well. In what might as well go down as one of the most unforgettable moments of the entire series that was witnessed by more than 51 million Americans, truck driver Sue Hawk was seen delivering a blistering speech during the final Tribal Council that had her putting her fellow castmates on blast for the things they had done.

Going surprisingly eloquent about it all, Hawk went on to get candid about finalists Richard Hatch and Kelly Wiglesworth as she spoke about their respective pro-aura points and flaws. After pointing all of this out, she compared Hatch and Wiglesworth to snakes and rats respectively.

Then things got a bit too personal as she said to the latter (see onYouTube):
If I were to ever pass you in this life again and you were laying there, dying of thirst, I would not give you a drink of water. I would let the vultures take you, and do whatever they want with you, with no ill regrets.

Okay, that must have stung really, really, reallybadly, especially since Hawk even openly admitted that her vote would be going out to Hatch. But the surprising part was how happy this made show hostJeff Probst, who could hardly contain himself after watching this outburst.
PerPEOPLE, watching this blistering speech unfold, Probst even made the comment expressing how he felt they had just put a gem out there. He candidly admitted thinking:

It was money. I knew we had just filmed a hit.
Well, for what it’s worth, Probst actually wasn’t wrong, considering how his show is, quite literally, one of the best survival-based television series created to date!

What exactly did Sue Hawk spew in her blistering speech?
While the series has since gone on to deliver even more immersive experiences, that blistering speech from Sue Hawk still goes down as one of the most memorable moments of the entire show. For one, she truly didn’t hesitate to let known just how much she hated Kelly Wiglesworth for her actions as she let out thestatementsshe had for the two instead ofquestions.
Talking about Richard Hatch first, she said, “Rich, you’re a very openly arrogant, pompous human being; but I admire your frankness with it. You have worked hard to get where you are at; and you started working hard way before you came to this island, and I admire that. So, with my working ethic background, I give that credit to you.“
At the same time, she also pointed out his flaws, saying, “But on the other hand, your inability to admit your failures, without going into a whiny speech, makes you a bit of a loser in life.” But the worst part was what she had reserved for Wiglesworth, as she pointed out how her ‘rafting persona queen‘ did get ‘stomped on‘ by ‘a city boy that never swam, let alone been in the woods or jungle or rowed a boat in his life.‘

Adding to this, Hawk said:
Anyway, Iwasyour friend at the beginning of this, really thinking that you were a true friend. I was willing to sit there [as one of the two finalists], and put you next to me. At that time, you were sweeter than me–I’m not a very openly nice person; I’m just frank, forward, and telling it the way it is;–and [I was willing] to have you sit there next to me, and lose $90,000, just to stomp on somebody like this [indicating Rich].
Continuing, she then pointed out that Wiglesworth didn’t do her right by lying to her when the two tribes merged, saying, “You lied to me, and showed me the true person you were. You’re very two-faced and manipulative to get where you’re at anywhere in life, that’s why you fail all the time… Kelly, just going back to what Jeff says, ‘what goes around, comes around’: it’s here.“
In fact, Hawk even went on to say to Wiglesworth, “You will not get my vote; My vote will go to Richard; and I hope that it’s the one vote that makes you lose the money. But if it’s not, so be it. I will shake your hand, and I’ll go on from here.”
Well, bitter much, Sue Hawk? But, then again, it’s a survival game, and it was her very speech that had Probst realizing they had filmed a hit, so we guess it is okay after all.
Survivor can currently be streamed on CBS.
