Sunrise Beyond announced that the original TV anime AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline’s project with toy company Bandai Spiritsis getting a new worktitled Kyokkō no Sōki. Along with the announcement, a teaser video was released for the upcoming work.
Although the announcement essentially gave nothing away about Kyokkō no Sōk, it was revealed that the director and planner of the project will bemecha animatorand designer Masami Obari. If you think that watching the teaser video will tell you more than the actual announcement, think again. The video is only 20 seconds long and basically just lets viewers know a new project is coming while dramatic music plays in the background.
Theoriginal TV animeAMAIM Warrior at the Borderline was first released in October 2021, and the second part followed shortly after, airing in April 2022. The series was directed at Sunrise Beyond by Nobuyoshi Habra, and script supervision is credited to Noburu Kimura. Character design was led by Kenichi Ohnuki, and music composition was by Rasmus Faber. The series’ main mecha animators were Shinya Kusumegi and Hiroshi Arisawa. Notice that Masami Obari wasn’t one of the mecha animators for the anime series, so it’s interesting that he will be the one directing the project.

However, it’s not just Japan experiencing this. The whole world is ruled by four trade blocs, and the entire archipelago is on the front line of conflict. Unfortunately for Japan, its residents live in a constant state of oppression, with humanoid machines called AMAIN patrolling the streets.
A young, introverted boy named Amō Ashiiba is determined to take back Japan though. He teams up with the AI Gai, and together they begin the acquisition of AMAIM Kenbu. The series also features a side story, which follows 16-year-old Gashin Tezuka, a member of the Japanese resistance who pilots the AMAIN Ghost to avenge his father.
