It’s no secret thatSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguewas a massive flop for Warner Bros. and developer Rocksteady Studios. While the live service game received seasonal content updates since its release earlier this year, that’s about to stop soon.
Rocksteady confirmed that Season 4 will be the last content drop we’ll see for the game, with the S4: Episode 8 patch scheduled to arrive in January 2025.

The confirmation of the game’s seasonal support ending comes fromRocksteadyin its latest deep dive for Season 4.
Speaking of which, Suicide Squad’s Season 4: Episode 7 patch is now out, and it adds Deathstroke to the game, alongside a new offline mode, a new Elseworlds area and new weapons.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Deathstroke, whose real name is Slade Wilson, is the character on which Deadpool was based. Like Pool, Deathstroke is a mercenary, one-man army that can engage enemies in close or long-range combat.
While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s servers will remain operational, Rocksteady has rolled out the game’s offline mode. This mode will allow players to experience the seasonal content for the game, including the main story campaign and all the seasonal story missions, without needing to be connected online. Thankfully, Rocksteady has made is to that all earned and purchased cosmetics will be available in offline mode.

To access offline mode, players can create a new profile or copy their existing online profile so they can log in and see all their progress.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League - Best Graphics Settings For Visuals & Performance
To get the most out of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, this guide details the best settings to tweak for visuals and performance.
Released in January of this year, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gained notoriety for its insanely long development time, which took over seven years. When it was released, it mainly received mediocre reviews, with most critics pointing to the live service game’s repetitive missions as one of the main issues.

OnOpen Critic, it currently has a “Weak” rating, with just 20 percent of critics recommending it. Heck, even its “top” critic average hasa pitiful 59 rating.
With the development time taking that long, and once you factor in the marketing budget, the game would need to sell like hotcakes for Warner Bros. to recoup their investment. Unfortunately, that didn’t come to fruition, as the publisher admitted the game’s disappointing saleshurt the company’s earnings significantly.

While Rocksteady’s next project hasn’t been announced yet, let’s hope it won’t take as long to develop as Suicide Squad. Given the damage this game has done to the studio and to WB’s gaming division in general, I wouldn’t count on a new live service project from them anytime soon.
