Suitsfound a new life in the pandemic era when every television series was finding its home on a streaming platform. As if rising again from the ashes, the series gained such massive popularity that anyone who hadn’t watchedSuitswas not living their best life. Hitching their wagon to that high, NBC quickly sanctioned a spinoff titledSuits: LAwhich will follow a new set of lawyers in the dreamy city of Los Angeles.

Stephen Amell has been roped in to play Ted Black, the central protagonist who will exude similar charm and charisma as the iconic Harvey Specter. Though nobody can match Specter, fans hope Black brings a fresh perspective to the lead lawyer role and leaves the masses in awe.
Stephen Amell’s one wish forSuits: LA
One thing about spinoff shows that becomes tricky is how to bridge the gap between the original showand the spinoffwithout making it mimic the former. The two shows need a delicate string of connection while also being significantly different to make the viewers come back each week for a new dose of the story.

WithSuitsandSuits: LA,creators must harbor a great story that ties the two worlds together. Despite being on opposite sides of the coast, withSuitsin Manhattan and thespinoff in Los Angeles, the latter needs to swiftly establish its own world with great character arcs and plot points.
Talking about this connection, Stephen Amell, the new face of the series, toldEntertainment Weeklyhow he wants the two worlds to collide. His character Ted Black worked with Harvey Specter in the past and fans are rooting to see the two buddies together on screen. Amell echoed this sentiment as he shared,

You’ll notice behind my desk that there’s a picture of a young Ted Black with what can only be a young Harvey Specter [Gabriel Macht], so there’s clearly a history between the characters. We came up together in the D.A.’s office. So if I was going to have anyone [from the original cast] come back, I would want it to be Gabriel. I would really hope that that happens, because I am very much a fan of his character and I think that that dynamic would be something that the viewers would really enjoy.
ThoughSuitsfans are no strangers to Specter’s (Gabriel Macht) cocky antics, it all depends on how Black’s character is written which will eventually decide their dynamic on screen. Would they lock horns and disagree on every matter or often see eye to eye since each brings a fresh perspective to the table?

Is Gabriel Macht returning forSuits: LA?
Suitswould not have been as popular as it became had it not starred Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter. The actor embraced the role so beautifully that it made fans forget where Specter ends and Macht begins.

Hence, it only made perfect sense to have Macht return for the spinoff albeit for a few episodes. The actor will most likely be seen in a three-episode arc, forging a renewed connection with Ted Black’s world of law in the Hollywood city.
Ever sinceSuitsended in 2019 with Harvey and Donna joining Mike and Rachel in Philadelphia for some pro bono legal work, fans have been wondering how the two couples are coping with the work as well as their friendship. It’s unclear whether we will see Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and Mike (Patrick J. Adams) return for the spinoff, but Harvey will surely make some big waves in his guest appearance.

Suits: LAis set to premiere on Aug 23, 2025 on NBC Network.
