Taking a break form Haunted Chocolatier, ConcernedApe, creator ofStardew Valley, has been hard at work getting fans excited for the launch of the game’s 1.6 update, which is just a few days away. The runaway indie farming and life sim has a ravenous fan base eager to gobble up any nuggets of information that the creator will throw their way, so ConcernedApe has been dropping one new tidbit of information about the game every day on his Twitter feed from March 12 through the update’s launch on March 19.

But with all those bite-sized pieces of informational goodness, surely fans will need something to wash it down with. Well, have you ever looked at a fresh, round jar of Hellman’s and thought, “Boy oh boy, I’d really love to just rip the lid off that sonofagun and shotgun it down my throat?” Well, in the next update, that’s what you’re going to be able to do! And no, we’re not sure why either.

Stardew Valley: 10 Best Characters, Ranked

Stardew Valley is full of charming characters you can meet throughout your cozy journey. This list breaks down the very best in the game.

You Can Now Drink Mayonnaise

In what has got to be the most stomach-churning decision by ConcernedApe (real name Eric Barone) since starting his campaign, he has revealed that the next update will allow your characters to drink mayonnaise. Not just consume, drink.

While it may not sound like the most appetizing option for imbibing yourself upon, most players are likely to produce mayonnaise on their farms at one point or another. Mayonnaise is easy to make — just pop an egg into the mayonnaise maker and wait — and it sells for a decently high amount in the early game, aschickens will likely be your first livestock optionand processed animal products are a great way to rake in the coin. Plus, you can already toss a full, uncooked egg in the air and chow down on it, shell and all, so why not mayo?

That said, Barone hasn’t indicated what sort of bonuses you’ll be receiving from drinking mayo (nope, still feels icky just to type it). Since it’s a high-cost item, it’s likely to restore a pretty big chunk of your health and stamina meters, but if he decides to go realistic with it, a negative stat buff that simulates your little 16-bit farmer buddy getting the stomach cramps from bad decision-making wouldn’t seem too inappropriate.

A Lot Of Less-Weird Updates Too

This is by far the most bizzare thing ConcernedApe has dropped on us in the list of recent updates. So far, he’s told us thatfruit trees will give us saplingswhen we cut them down, our pets won’t take as long toget out of the damn way, our spouses will have ahoneymoon period just after a weddingthat won’t let us get on their nerves as much, and some quality of life stuff, like jams and picked veggies now being color-coded, downward sword swings having a wider arc, and crop harvesting going just as fast from left to right as it does from right to left, which apparentlywasn’t a thing before.

There are still a couple of days left before March 19, when Stardew Valley Update 1.6 is set to launch, so we’ll see what other kooky ideas ConcernedApe has in his head before then.
