Stalker 2’s launch has been a bit of a wild ride. Between an invasion of the developer’s homeland, and Russia’s (alleged) targetedpropaganda attack on the game, it’s something of a fairy tale release in the midst of sheer darkness.
Naturally, the game launched with… more than a few bugs. Bugs thatGSC Game Worldhas been hard at work fixing. And it seems like they’re pretty good at it - this istheir third patch in seven days.

This latest patch takes aim at some big heavy-hitters in the game-ruining space.Crash fixesare the big headline item here, with multiple listed at the top of Stalker 2’spatch notes.
They’ve also dealt with a rather brutal bug that could remove your player save file, if you hard-rebooted your PC or Xbox.Now you’ll get to keep all that tasty progress.
There have also been someimprovements to mouse and keyboard inputs, changing the game’s default values to ones that should be more manageable. But nothing fundamental has changed here - it’s all within settings you can manually adjust.
Aside from somefurther AI fixes, the remaining adjustments all have spoiler tags on them - feel free to check them yourself if that’s no issue for you.
The file size for this patch is nearly 8 GB, if you’re playing on Xbox Series X or S, according toEurogamer.

If Steam reviews are anything to go by (and despitewhat sometimes happens, they tend to be), Stalker 2 has been received with open arms by the playerbase at large. Launch day was pretty rough, and player outrage gave GSC Game World a handy-dandy list for them to tackle.
And tackle they did, quicklyputting out a statementand creating update after update. The third update in that train is what we saw today, and there will likely be more to come.
The bugs, and subsequent updates, are a frequent topic of the game’ssteam reviews, which put it at a ‘very positive’ score as of writing.

Clearly, these issues have neither stopped nor slowed progress on getting the game to a healthier state. The developers are putting a lot of effort into fixing things up. Their effort is not going unnoticed.
