The Farmlifeside storyin Split Fiction is the first that transforms the party members into new beings and gives them access to special abilities that are needed to survive the horrors of agricultural life. While relatively short, this stage makes for a great introduction to some of the teamwork required in later stages and also just how weird Hazelight can get inthis great game.
In this story,both characters are turned into pigs. Mio is now a spotted pig, while Zoe is a pure pink porker. Each has their own powers, with Mio possessing a super-rainbow fart that can propel her across the stage. Zoe, on the other hand, can stretch like a spring into the air, allowing her to reach high places of interest.

Inside The Barn
At the start, both characters must jump over the fence in front of them. Mio has to jump up the bales of hay to the right, then fart jump across. Zoe must go to the large bails of hay to the left and stretch into the sky, allowing her to drop off the other side.
It’s important to note that Mio retains her basic jump, which can be used in tandem with the fart power. Zoe loses the capacity to jump in the pig form and must use her new power alone to reach higher areas.
In the next section, Zoe can just stretch across the next fence, while Mio has to jump up the cube of hay in the center of the room and rainbow fart off. Once both have jumped over the fence, the nearby door will start to speak:it wants apples, which are the keys for this area of the game.

For Mio, face the apple door and climb on the bales of hay to the right. Then, fart jump to the platform on the left, follow it around, and fart jump again across the room to the platform with the purple apple.
For Zoe, face the apple door, stretch up to the platform on the left, and stretch again over the wall which leads to an area with pigs worshiping a strawberry. Ignore them and follow the path around to find the green apple.When both players present their apples to the door, it will open.
Outside The Barn
The next area takes players outside the barn, where they’ll reach another sentient building that requires two more apples to progress forward.
As Mio, look for three hay bale platforms in a row. There are bubbles floating around the arena emitting from the giant sleeping pig that you’re able to run into to be propelled into the air. Wait till one gets close to the hay, fly into the air, and fart jump onto the platforms. The purple apple can be found here.
For Zoe, look for the two water towers across from the apple doors. Then, wait till one of the bubbles from the giant pig gets near and run into it.
This will propel Zoe into the air, allowing you to land on the smaller tower. you’re able to stretch up to get the green apple from here.
You’ll enter a new barn after offering the gate its prized apples.
Simply follow the path around until you reach a spade stuck in the wall. Use your special powers to get on the spade, and it will fling you into the air. You’ll be outside once more, with yet another door bellowing for apples.

In this section, both players will need to work together to get their apples.
First, run ahead to the area with the massive basket of apples hanging from a rope. Mio must fart jump onto a spade which will send her up to a ledge and allow her to jump onto the apple basket. This lowers it so that Zoe can jump on too. Mio must then jump off, allowing Zoe to stretch up into the air onto a platform that’s just below her apple. Stretch once more to claim it.
The purple apple is a lot simpler than it looks – don’t get distracted by all the extra bits in the stage. Concentrate on the see-saw.
For the next apple, go to the left of the apple door and look for the shovel being used as a see-saw. Sit Mio on the long bit, then have Zoe sit just next to the small bit. Zoe can then stretch into the air and drop onto the see-saw. This will propel Mio into the air, who can fart glide onto the bale of hay with the purple apple.
Go through the apple door and follow the path around until you see the apple baskets being spun like platforms. Mio can jump onto them, while Zoe can stretch/drop her way from platform to platform. Once on the other side, both need to grab onto the basket of the strawberry hot air balloon, which drops them into a meat grinder.
Hot Dog Section
In a grisly twist of fate, both pigs have been turned into hot dogs! The players will still have control over both sausages, though their special pig powers are now lost. This means that they can still jump and move around the stage despite their new forms.
To proceed, one player must whack the button on the front of the grill to turn it on, then both will need to use the prongs as a platform to leap onto it.
Be wary of having one character between the prongs, as jumping on them will kill the person in the middle.
Once each hot dog has sufficiently grilled themselves enough, roll off towards the condiment bottles to continue the stage.
One player needs to leap onto the ketchup and mustard bottles to thoroughly sauce their teammate. Repeat this process for the other player.
Lastly, Mio and Zoe must each enter a hot dog bun to complete the stage.
