Sony has provided further information about thePlayStation Starsloyalty program, including the launch dates for different regions. According to theblog post, PlayStation Stars will be available in the US on October 5th, followed by Europe, Australia, and New Zealand on October 13th.
Launching in Asia today, PlayStation Stars is a new loyalty program, first announced atSony’s State of Playevent a couple of weeks ago, allowing players to earn rewards by simply completing various tasks. As stated in the blog post, this initiative program aims to celebrate players' achievements with delightful campaigns in which they can earn collectibles and points.
For instance, PlayStation Stars' “monthly check-in” campaign will task you with playing at least one game in a month to receive rewards. There will also be various activities that will require you to earn specific achievements to complete the task.

Sony has confirmed that PlayStation Stars will be free-to-join, so aPlayStation Plusmembership is not required to be part of the initiative program. However, players will need to have an adult account for the PlayStation network to join the program when it launches next week. PlayStation Stars will be accessible through the PlayStation app on iOS and Android devices as well as on PC viaplaystation.com.
