It has been almost a year since David Corenswet was announced to be playing Superman after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over. Gunn was the one to suggest Mascitti after he had him work with Flula Borg forThe Suicide Squad, who played the role of Javelin. And now, he is helping Corenswet get the best Superman look possible.

As soon as the first look forDavid Corenswet‘s Superman was made public, fans and foes alike have been talking about the suit. For some, it looked amazing, while others found flaws. The same was the case for Corenswet himself, whose physicality became the topic of discussion. While some fans think he looks perfect to be Superman, others think he has bulked up way more than necessary.
Paolo Mascitti, who is the man behind Corenswet’s bulked-up physique, is very positive about the actor’s look. He shared the actor’s journey to gain muscles for the role and what was the perfect fit for him to attain the shape needed to become a superhero like Man of Steel. Talking toGQ, Mascitti said:
“David had been working out intensively before I met him, but he’s naturally a very lean guy. He’s 6’6” but we wanted to put more bulk on him. He probably went from 200lbs to 240 lbs, but some of that mass will be shed as he continues to tone up.”

Henry Cavill Fans Are Not Too Enthusiastic About The David Corenswet Physique
When Zack Snyder broughtHenry Cavillto the DCEU as Superman, while there was some initial doubt, the actor managed to squash them pretty soon. Cavill became synonymous with the role of Man of Steel and climbed the Hollywood ladder, becoming more famous than ever. After hisBlack Adamcameo, the actor announced he would be returning to the role, but that happiness was short-lived. As soon as the Gunn-Safran era at DC began, Cavill’s era came to a close. And to say fans were enraged would be an understatement.
After the recent drop of Corenswet’s first look as Superman was made public, Henry Cavillfans were quick to criticize. While some said he looked the same as Cavill, and it didn’t make sense that the latter was taken off the project to bring in a new face who now looks more or less the same as him, others thought Corenswet looked too bulked up for the role.
David Corenswet might be getting too big as Superman. James Gunn is worried since David just keeps gaining more mass and repeating: “If I don’t look like a Tim Sale drawing, I’m not doing it”.
