The second season of Chugong and A-1 Pictures’,Solo Leveling, is on a rampage as the series is delivering banger after banger in terms of episodes. Every episode shows new development in the narrative, which in a way focuses on Sung Jinwoo’s journey as he tries to complete the Elixir of Life to revive his mother from her illness.

While the Solo Leveling: Arise From The Shadow anime series is earning constant fame and recognition, it is also getting criticized in a major way. This criticism is the result of constant cliffhangers at the end of every episode that disrupts the thrill that fans gain from watching the story unravel. Not only that, these cliffhangers are also decreasing the effect of the ongoing scene.
Although these cliffhangers serve the purpose of dealing with the overbearing fast pacing of theSolo Levelingnarrative, they are also causing frustration among the fans. Thus, A-1 Pictures needs to do something about this soon, or fans might just lose interest in the second season ofSolo Levelingbecause of the constant cliffhangers.

The purpose of cliffhangers inSolo LevelingSeason 2
Anime fans might not know this, but the plot ofSolo Leveling: Arise From The Shadowis a little different from the original manhwa and light novel. This was done byChugongand A-1 Pictures to deal with the problems that were analyzed during the original story. And while it worked in the favor of the series,it increased the pacing of the narrative.
“He immediately regretted it”: Sung Jinwoo’s Inferiority and Flaws Are the Biggest Reasons Why Solo Leveling Fans Find Him Relatable
The storyline ofSolo LevelingSeason 2 is moving at a much faster pace than that of the manhwa because of the cuts and bits that have been modified within the anime. This fast pace is causing problems with the plot progression, and thus, the studio evidently decided to put cliffhangers that would control the pace and divide the story properly.
This way, theSolo Levelingstoryline can go on with the modifications to the narrative without ending it too fast. And while this was not much focused on in the first season, the second season ofSolo Levelinguses the concept of cliffhangers much more, which might not always be good.

The cliffhangers might not be the ideal way to deal withSolo Leveling’spacing
While the inclusion of constant cliffhangers within theSolo Levelinganime is understandable, the story still feels frustrating to a lot of fans. This is because the cliffhangers disrupt the smooth flow of a scene or the ongoing narrative, forcing fans to wait for another episode and find out more, which does not seem ideal for a thriller likeSolo Leveling.
The most recent example of this was seen inSolo Levelingseason 2 episode 5, which shows the confrontation of the High Orcs with Sung Jinwoo’s group.

As the story was in a constant flow of thrilling battles and dramatic confrontations, as soon as it reached the climax, the episode ended, and it was very annoying and frustratingfor fans.

The studio and Chugong will have to do something about it because this constant interruption could harm the overall reception of the series in a major way. As fans might have noticed, the second season ofSolo Levelingis incredibly important to the narrative, and if it fails because of such minor interruptions, the entire series might get doomed.
