YouTube has been at the center of online entertainment for a long time, long before streaming was ever a thing, and long before OTT were as omnipresent as they are now. Some of the biggest celebrities on the internet got their start on YouTube, which became the hub of online celebrities, until, of course, the likes of Twitch.

Myth was one of the heavyweights streaming on the Twitch platform, who, according to sources, was given a whopping sum of $4 million to switch to YouTube. However, as a slew of fans have pointed out, the streamer pulled in pathetically low numbers on his YouTube tenure, barely even cracking 200 viewers.
Myth’s low YouTube numbers have got fans wondering how much Mr. Beast might be making from YouTube
Myth was on YouTubefor about two years, migrating from Twitch. The streamer has now revealed that YouTube allegedly shelled out upwards of $4 million over these two years to retain Myth on the platform.
Given that Myth’s viewership was horribly low on YouTube when compared to Twitch, a lot of fans think that Myth pulled one over YouTube, or that the streamer was actually a bad business decision for the video-sharing site. He said (viaFearBuckon X):

For two years, alright fk it I am just going to say it and stop being a puy! Alright, for two years YouTube gave the boy four million motherf**king dollars!
The streamer’s low numbers have gotten some fans wondering how much major YouTube stars are making, as someone with as low a view count as Myth was able to bag $4 million from YouTube.

People likeMrBeast, who routinely rake in an enormous number of views across the multiple channels that he has, will possibly be earning a lot morethan Myth, with YouTube explicitly focused on keeping them on the platform by all means necessary.
A lot of creators that had migrated to YouTube are returning to Twitch
YouTube started out as a great resource with a focus on making and sharing videos, but Twitch has been largely associated with streaming and live streams in general. Just like Myth, a slew of creators like Sykkuno and Fuslie had migrated to YouTube, as a part of the contract that the site signed with them individually.

YouTube perhaps failed to provide these creators with the same fan base that Twitch was able to amass, and speculations suggest that there was a reluctance among the fans to migrate from Twitch to YouTube to watch the creators that had migrated. While there are some that say that it was simply because YouTube chose the wrong creators, that does not seem to be a well-founded argument, given that YT specifically targeted the sort of streamers who were at the top of their game, or at least well received by their communities at large.
