It’s no secret that Nintendo is developing aThe Legend of Zeldamovie. While theSuper Mario Bros.movie was entirely in CGI, the Zelda movie adaptation will be live-action.

Nintendo executive and legendary game maker Shigeru Miyamoto announced the casting choices today, which is honestly a bit surprising.
The Legend of Zelda Movie Has Cast Its Link And Zelda Characters
The announcement by Miyamoto was made onX(formerly Twitter), where it was relayed via the official Nintendo account. Miyamoto revealed thatZelda will be played by Bo Bragason, while Link will be portrayed by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth.
While not necessarily household names, both actors have appeared in movies and TV. Bragason had a recurring role as Roxy Jackson in the TV show Renegade Nell, while Ainsworth starred as Mark Critch in the TV series Son of a Critch for more than 50 episodes.

Even if there are no story details available, I surmise Ganon will be the main villain, and the Triforce will somehow factor in his plans that Link and Zelda must thwart or Hyrule will be blanketed by darkness. Sounds about right, no?
With a release date of July 02, 2025, more casting choices and film details are expected to be announced soon, as shooting hasn’t yet begun.
