Empire of Sinis anupcoming strategy gamefrom developer Romero Games and publisher Paradox Interactive. The game puts you in the shoes of a Mafia boss living in Chicago during the Prohibition era. Not only does the game boast a great premise that isn’t seen too often, but it represents one of the fathers of the FPS branching out into new territory. Delays are never fun. Especially for developers who both want to get their game out there and know that a delay means even more work to get the game out the door. However, for the most part, game delays usually result in higher quality games. So, if Romero Games thinksEmpire of Sinneeds more time, I' all for giving them whatever time they need.
I mean, how often dowe get a gamelikeEmpire of Sin? A turn-based strategy game set in real-life history that isn’t a famous war? That basically never happens. For the unique premise and genre combination, I’m willing to give Romero Games the benefit of the doubt. If they need a few more months to work out the kinks, then go for it. I really thinkEmpire of Sinhas tons of potential and want them to put out the best version of the game that they can. Even if I have to wait a little longer than expected, that’s fine.
Empire of Sinlaunches on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One in Fall 2020. It will be interesting to see if PS5 and Xbox Series X releases are in the cards after this delay.
