It’s been a while since we got any fresh information onResident Evil Village. The game wasannounced back in Juneas part of the PS5 reveal event, alongside other big titles, includingHorizon Forbidden WestandSpider-Man: Miles Morales, but since then it’s gone relatively quiet.

We’ve hada few rumours and rumblings, but Capcom has yet to reveal anything new or substantial. That is about to change though. Originallyscheduled for this month, Capcomhas confirmedthat they will be sharing more information on the game at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The event, which joins many others in going online this year, kicks off on September 23, with theResident Evil Villagepresentation coming on the final day of the show, September 27.

Capcom has also confirmed that their showcases will be broadcast on Twitch via their CapcomUSA channel. While it will be broadcast in Japanese, they have confirmed that both English and Chinese interpretation will be provided. Other games confirmed for Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show event includeStreet Fighter V Champion Edition. Joining Capcom at this year’s Tokyo Game Show will be other big-name developers, including Konami, Sega and Square Enix, who will be showing off more information onBabylon’s Fall.

Resident Evil Villagewill be a direct sequel toResident Evil 7and will be the second game in the series to be in first-person, as opposed to the usual third-person gameplay of the series. The initial reveal trailer is deliberately vague but teases some extremely intriguing additions toVillage. It appears we’ll be fighting some very different enemy types, including werewolf-like creatures and will also feature the return of Chris Redfield in potentially more of an antagonistic type role.

The game is scheduled for a 2021 release date and is confirmed to be coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
